Hope for the best

The following is very interesting. Very much worth reading.  Either the interview or the Dr’s site.  The Water Cure: An interview with Dr. Batmanghelidj http://www.naturalnews.com/Report_water_cure_0.html

If your grocer does not carry couscous, change grocers

This dish is fit for a pauper or a king. Life lengthener on couscous. To prepare couscous, which is ready in 5-6 minutes (the instant kind), see elsewhere in this blog. One note: If you like salt on things, put a little salt in the boiling water you pour on top of the couscous. This is fried sweet potatoes sliced very thin, with onions, garlic fried in olive oil. when nearly soft, pour some instant mushroom soup on it, add a small amount of water, mix, and add the spices. Garlic is great against plaque in the arteries among many other qualities. Onions like garlic are great for the cardiovascular system, cancer reduction, and anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial among others. http://whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=45 Sweet potato is an excellent source of vitamin A, and also C. If you smoke, this and other vitamin A foods may lengthen your life. Most of the spices will do amazing things for the system.  You thought you were healthy before this? This will make you glow. Liberal amounts of (use your descretion here, but I put on the equivalent of 2 tsp of each) sage, oregano, basil, thyme, cardamom (I use only one), coriander, a little pepper. Cover and finish cooking on low flame.  If you run a restaurant, you can charge double for this. And if you run a soup kitchen, this will really help your clients through the tough times.

Delicious Failure I  have a number of these but you normally do not see them. This was so good, decided to put it up. The creamed spinach with copious basil, thyme, cumin mixed with tbsp of instant mushroom soup, coffee whitener, butter and a slice of yellow cheese, was supposed to go in-between the pasta. No such luck. To keep them from sticking together, I have to put a tsp of olive oil in the water before adding them to cook, and separating them when taken out of the pan. Next time. But do not forget the sweet paprika. It’s the added touch to your failures which make it all worthwhile. spinachnoodle

Natural Iron, High Protein
Pancake with Yogurt for optimal health. Main ingredients: Tofu (protein), flour, pomegranate seeds(iron), yogurt, honey. How you put them together is the trick. Tofu (either 2000 year old, straight from a dinosaur’s mouth and de-calcified, or that’s when the Chinese first made it – you choose) has virtually no taste but gives you about 20% of your daily requirement for protein, contains Omega-3 which “reduces the tendency of platelets to form blood clots”, is a marginal anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory, and contains selenium which is beneficial against cancer and heart disease. http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=111 Add an egg to the batter for additional protein. Cut the tofu in thin slices, add the pomegranate seeds without the juice as much as possible to the desired flour and water base. Pour into skillet with butter, or olive oil. When ready, top with yogurt mixed with honey. Add maple syrup. Part of the problem here is the pomegranate taste which is a bit tart but when raw iron is involved and you need it, you learn to overlook the taste, and the honey and syrup help in this regard.

Avocado Sauce Spaghetti with Fried Tofu.
This is the best I can remember 5 days after the fact. But I felt that some explanation is better than none. Tofu is  basically tasteless, so  it was cut into cubes, dipped in a flour/water mix with 1 tsp soy sauce and then fried.  The avocado sauce is milk, mashed avocado, 1 tbsp flour, coriander, oregano, a slice of favorite cheese melted in the mix. Frozen peas and carrots added at the end of the boiling of the spaghetti.

Apple salad with granola, avocado and mayonnaise  with a side dish. Iin this case, the side is fast cooking Chinese noodles with spinach, cheese, oregano, basil, thyme, and coriander.

Red HOT Chili Peppers and…
If I didn’t have a heart attack eating it, I am protected for at least 3 months against one.  This is red hot chili pepper with potatoes, onion, garlic cloves, and a mushroom soup sauce with flour and milk which is its only saving grace. I think one teaspoon of the RHCP would have done it. I put in two. One note: Chili pepper dust which hangs in the air after grinding them, and when putting into the pan can get into your nose and cause coughing. Be sure to ALWAYS mix the powder in a liquid of some sort before adding to the mix in the pan. As for the eating, could not finish this. If my stomach was going through what my mouth was experiencing up top, I had to have some mercy. Ate some yogurt as a buffer for my mouth as well as the gastrointestinal system. What I needed was a good strong cheese. Just in case you feel you need some first aid, this is the page to go to: How to Cool Burns from Chili Peppers http://www.wikihow.com/Cool-Burns-from-Chili-Peppers http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=111

eggtortillapartialTortilla Omelet. This is a two stage job. The last  thing you want is a soggy tortilla in the middle of your omelet. Heat the pan to hot. Put in the tortilla – count to five and turn (of course the count depends on the heat of the pan). Remember, browned but not burned is the goal. Take it out (something I did not do), pour in 1/2 your egg mix, put tortilla on top, pour on rest of egg and be sure the tortilla is covered by the mix (as much as possible – nothing is perfect – relax), cover. When the under side is done (may be much less than a minute taking into account the attempt to maximize coverage), slide it onto a plate, and use the plate to flip the T.O. into the pan upside down (no, the egg). In a hot pan, will be done faster than you imagine. When finished, some chili sauce or chutney (I combined the two. Leaves my mouth wondering what is really going on). If I do it again, I’ll do it right – say that every time. Egg mix: Two eggs, some granola (the health edge), and whatever spices you are comfortable adding. Shake well.

Talking about shaking, when my cat shakes, it is so fast and so total that if she weren’t so young I swear she would fall apart. It is total motion at high speed. Truly amazing. And she comes out of it purring (and no headache).

Hope For The Best. It has been one of those days when nothing has gone right, so I added the crowning touch by throwing everything into the pan with some water and [the title goes here]. I  will give you the ingredients but amounts of each and cooking time, and what is added or left out is entirely up to the individual. Two veggieburgers, spinach, fast cooking chinese spaghetti, miso, thyme, curcumin, salt to taste, enough water to submerge the total half way, walnuts, small amount of couscous but not enough to soak up all of the water (it will anyway so be careful, and more can always be added at the end), soy sauce (again, you can add more later). This dish forces you to put on ketchup, and believe it or not, ketchup does have some food value. On a listing of foods by rank order of nutritional quality, ketchup does not appear at the bottom. And the miso? Even trace elements of the miso is good for the system. When the internals see that stuff coming down, they say “Hey, he really does care”. Always good to have the system on your side.
